More photos posted HERE!

Right, that was my first attempt at photographing stars...(with my Dad's camera)
What do you think? I used 30 seconds shutter speed and aperture of f/4.5...
Is there any way - without editing it - to get it less noisy? ISO?

Some underwater weeds...

  1. Nice job! I haven't had as much chance to shoot at night as I would like, but I can give you some tips. Your shutter speed is just about right. If you can, (it depends on your lens) use a lower aperture. At night, the lower the aperture the better. If you get a low enough aperture, an ISO of about 1,000 should be fine. That will lower noise. Also it would really improve the photo to have something in the foreground, like a landscape.

    1. Ok. The lowest aperture it goes onto is 3.5...but when I did that it appeared to have a kind of orangey glow a the bottom?
Yeah, that would be ideal. I'll try from an upstairs window next time.
